Admission into various Institutions in India

Rajiv Gandhi University of knowledge Technologies

rgu The Government of Andhra Pradesh established Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) in 2008 to cater to the educational needs of the meritorious rural youth of Andhra Pradesh. Three Institutions (IIITs) are established under RGUKT, one each at Basara (Adilabad dt), Nuzivid (Krishna dt) and Rajiv Knowledge Valley (Kadapa dt). These autonomous Institutions will specialize in teaching and research in Information Technology and other emerging engineering and other disciplines under the control of a common University Governing Council and following a common syllabus.

Admissions 2010 notifications

Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) invites applications from eligible candidates for admission into the first year of its six year integrated programme, leading to B.Tech. degree, at it's three RGUKT (IIITs) located at Basar, Nuzivid and R.K. Valley. This year's total intake into the first year is 3,000. The annual highly subsidized fee for each of the first two years for AP students is Rs.36,000/-.



Jawahar Navodaya

Procedure for admission      

Admission to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas is made through National Level Competitive Examination conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education and the children are admitted at class VI level.  Children are also being admitted against the vacant seats in class IX and in class XI also through Regional Level Examination/Marks in the previous qualifying examination.  Education in Navodaya Vidyalayas is free of cost.  A total of 75% of seats are reserved for rural children and a minimum of 33% of seats are reserved for girls.  SCs/STs also have due reservations of 15% & 7½% respectively.  The Scheme envisages establishment of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, one in each district of the country.

Kendriya Vidyalayas

Admissions in Kendriya Vidyalayas, the following guidelines are issued to admissions in the Vidyalayas with effect from the academic session 2007-08.

Procedure for admission      

An advertisement would issued by the regional office in the local newspapers at the cluster level in the first week of February giving the admission Schedule for registration etc and inviting children to have themselves registered for admission in Kendriya Vidyalayas. This advertisement should indicate that admissions in Kendriya Vidyalayas are not restricted to central govt. employees and are open to all, only certain priorities have been laid down as per which children of different categories would receive priority in admission. The reservations for SC, ST and Physically Handicapped should also be indicated.
